Prepack Systems has introduced a pair of wrapping and shrinking devices for the fresh produce industry.

The BELCA SP100-H flow wrapping machine and BTVD shrink tunnel are constructed from stainless steel AISI-304 and suited to the wrapping of broccoli, suede, turnips and other loose products, according to the manufacturer.

The flow wrapping machine is equipped with an in feed conveyor which separates the vegetables before wrapping them in film. The wrapped packs then proceed into the BTVD shrink tunnel where the film is compacted around the vegetables.

Prepack claim the system can be processed at speeds of between 60 and 75 packs per minute. It can accommodate film reels up to 1,000 mm wide and is not restricted to a particular pack length.

The SP100-H is fitted with an electric speed variator and controlled by PLC. All surplus material is automatically removed and wound onto the excess film reel holder.
