European stonefruit congress Europech will be held April 27 and 28 in Perpignan.
The recent cold wave in Europe and North Africa will be at the heart of discussions during the meeting. Crop forecast specialist Eric Hostalnou saidl that the European markets “should see a paradox - a start with very small Andalusian volume, then from mid-May important volumes that might overlap with early production in northern Spain, France and Italy.”
Others topics on the Europech agenda are promotion programmes, Tunisian production, adding value in the industry, the evolution of the summer plum market and a retail survey.
