Florette UK showed off its Heavenly Veg steamer pots at IFE05 following the official launch of the range into Tesco this week.

The easy-to-cook mixed vegetable packs come with a choice of four sauce accompaniments - goat's cheese, honey and ginger, thai green curry and tomato coulis.

According to a spokeswoman, the pots have already been selling well and the company is in discussion with other leading retailers keen to roll out the range. "With the importance of retaining the nutrient value of vegetables on people's minds at the moment, these pots are proving very popular," she said.

Florette will also be extending its prepared salad fare in time for Summer, with additional lines including a Sweet Continental mix of lamb's lettuce, butterhead and romaine.

Sandy Sewell, commercial director of Florette UK said recognising the variety of uses for salad mixes will be the challenge in achieving the market growth potential.

Sewell said that thanks to a persistent advertising campaign recognition of the brand had soared to 60 per cent and Florette will be promoting a National Salad Week in July to expand this even further.
