A fruit snacking company is set to launch a new air-dried organic apple product to tape into the trend for healthy products.
The Five A Day Company is hoping its Just Organic Apple Sticks in a 15g bag will be a hit with consumers. The launch follows success with its air-dried organic apple slices in a 50g pack.
The company says each apple sticks pack will contain the natural goodness of at least one organic apple and is ideal for children’s lunch boxes.
A spokesman for the Gretna-based company said: “Following masses of recent adverse publicity concerning our children’s diets, the 15g bag is launched to fill the gap in the market for a healthy, nutritious snack without the use of additives, preservatives, artificial flavourings and colourings. Just Organic Apple - exactly what it says on the pack.
“Nothing is added to the Organic Apples in the manufacturing process, only air drying to remove moisture. With consumers becoming more aware of the dangers and health implications of food additives, The Five A Day Company’s Air Dried Organic Apple Snacks are a healthy option.”
