Angus soft Fruits have been getting the consumer appetite whetted with tasting sessions at the Taste of Scotland show last week.

ASF was giving people the chance to sample its premium AVA-branded strawberry at the show in Edinburgh.

A new campaign was also announced, with celebrity chef Nick Nairn, adding his support to raise the profile of AVA strawberries.

A competition was held at the show, giving visitors the chance to win two, one-day cookery courses at the Nick Nairn Cook School.

John Gray, commercial manager for Angus Soft Fruits said, “We are happy that we are able to link AVA with a figure who is so well known throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK.

“We hope that this relationship leads to increased consumer awareness not only for AVA strawberries but also for the exclusive Nick Nairn Cook School.”

AVA strawberries are sold as a premium berry in Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference, Tesco’s Finest, Co-op’s Truly Irresistible, and Morrison’s The Best ranges.

The fruit is grown and hand picked with the greatest of care in Tayside & Fife, Scotland and Angus Soft Fruits is the exclusive producer of the AVA variety.
