Matthew Bruno from Goosnargh in Preston has been appointed fresh produce buyer at leading regional retailer Booths.
Twenty-seven-year-old Bruno moves from his previous job at Morrisons, where he initially joined the company’s store graduate programme, before moving into the fresh foods trading department with responsibility for continental meats, pate and olives, eggs, fresh and frozen ethnic food.
In his new position at Booths, Bruno will become a member of the fresh produce team responsible for buying tomatoes, mushrooms, salads, vegetables and root vegetables.
Bruno said: “Having worked with regional suppliers in my previous role I enjoyed the regional aspect of buying, coupled with the fact that Booths is a family-run retailer with strong local roots and a very strong emphasis on quality, taste and provenance. I believe my new role will allow me to develop my skills further.”
