MVS Foodservices is the new sponsor of the Foodservice Supplier of the Year category at Re:fresh 2009.
A supplier of grape, top fruit and citrus to the UK’s foodservice industry, MVS will present two awards at the ceremony on May 28. The MVS National Foodservice Supplier of the Year award will be given to the best national UK-based supplier of fresh produce within the foodservice sector. The MVS Regional Foodservice Supplier of the Year award will go to the best UK-based foodservice supplier that carries out 90 per cent or more of its business within a 60-mile radius of its main depot or head office.
MVS was established in mid-2007 and has undergone a significant restructure in recent months, as it sharpens its focus on a growing base of core customers. Managing director Hannes Martin said: “Working within the foodservice sector, I am well aware of how tough an environment we have all been operating in during the last 12 months. There are some truly outstanding foodservice companies across the UK and MVS is very pleased to be able to support these awards.
“Foodservice is a dynamic and exciting sector to supply and whoever takes the Re:fresh awards will have worked very hard to get up on that stage.”
The final few entries are being received for the awards, sponsored by Florette, and FPJ and the Fresh Produce Consortium will publish a shortlist by the end of April. Because of Easter, the final entry deadline will be extended until Wednesday of next week, April 15.
