Pauleys has been named the MVS National Foodservice Supplier of the Year award at this year’s Re:fresh awards.

Pauleys has demonstrated innovation and initiative across a wide spectrum in the last 12 months, in which it has built on its core strengths to firmly cement its place among the leading suppliers of fresh produce into the UK foodservice sector.

In July last year, the company became the first wholesaler in foodservice to be awarded the Red Tractor logo and it has maximised the impact of its commitment to supplying customers with product sourced from British growers wherever possible by placing the logo on more than 100 seasonal lines, and growing the share of home-grown fruit and vegetables in its portfolio to 43 per cent.

Already adhering to British Retail Consortium, GlobalGAP and Assured Produce standards, Pauleys has dedicated a technical team to working with its supplier base to gain accreditation, and highlighted its belief in provenance by guaranteeing customers that their product will be the best in season, grown by regional experts, whether domestically sourced or imported, throughout the year.

Pauleys beat off stiff competition from Reynolds. As a third-generation family business and a previous winner of this award, Reynolds has recorded a remarkable 24 per cent year-on-year organic growth rate and narrowly missed out on the gong.
