Liverpool Produce Terminal (LPT), the fresh produce terminal operation based at Seaforth Docks, Liverpool has a new owner.
Logistics company Cold Move Ltd has taken over the ownership of the business. Go Associates Limited, a company previously formed to promote and develop the business of LPT, is being placed in liquidation.
James Woodward, managing director of Cold Move, said: “The costs of developing the business of LPT by Go Associates proved to be significantly in excess of the amounts that had been budgeted for and this has led to Go Associates not being able to meet all the required costs involved in this new venture. We will be operating LPT as a subsidiary of our successful business which is in excess of 50 years old and see it as an extension to our current network of warehouses and distribution operations in the UK.
"We are totally committed to making the terminal a success and continue to believe that this is an exciting and viable project which will offer retailers, wholesalers and importers an economical and green alternative solution to the importation of fresh produce into the UK.”
