Bolton-based foodservice supplier Coopers Produce has won a prestigious contract to supply all of Roadchef’s motorway services in the UK.

The deal means that Coopers will be providing a full range of fresh fruit and vegetables - both whole head and prepared - to all Roadchef locations, servicing outlets including a number of big name companies such as Premier Inns, Wimpy, Restbite, Restore and Pizza Hut, as well as those operated by Roadchef.

Roadchef is the UK’s third-largest motorway services operator with 26 sites across the country, including Europe’s biggest - Clacket Lane on the M25 in Kent.

The new contract marks a major step forward for the company, which was founded just four years ago.

Coopers partner Sarah Cooper said: “Since day one we have always been committed to providing our customers with the highest possible levels of quality in terms of both product and service and this played a key role in gaining the Roadchef contract.

“Supplying Roadchef marks a significant development in the company’s expansion programme and we are looking forward to building a close business relationship with them.”

A Roadchef spokesman: “Roadchef demands extremely high standards of quality and freshness from all its catering suppliers and we are working with Coopers because of their ability to meet these standards for all our fruit and vegetable requirements.”
