POM Wonderful has introduced a new daily serving 236ml size bottle for its line of pomegranate juices.

The largest US pomegranate grower and maker of 100 per cent pomegranate juice has launched the bottles, with a recommended retail price of £1.99, for four flavours: 100% Pomegranate, Pomegranate Mango and two new flavours, Pomegranate Blueberry and Pomegranate Cherry.

POM Wonderful Pomegranate Juices are all natural, packed with polyphenol antioxidants and a good source of potassium. Like its 100% Pomegranate juice, POM Wonderful’s pomegranate juice blends contain no added sugars, filler juices or artificial ingredients.

POM Wonderful exclusively grows the Wonderful variety of pomegranate and manages the entire juicing process from tree to bottle, by hand picking, crushing and juicing each pomegranate.

A recent study revealed that POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice demonstrated the most complete free radical scavenging activity, greater protection of LDL-cholesterol from oxidation, and the highest polyphenol content compared to several healthy beverages including red wine, juices and teas.

Unlike other antioxidant studies, this one, from the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry, 2008, determined overall antioxidant content and functionality by performing four tests on each beverage.

In 1998, POM initiated a medical research programme to investigate the Wonderful variety pomegranate. So far, 47 total studies have been published in peer-reviewed journals. Primary research areas have included the prostate and cardiovascular system.
