The Netherlands-based Mushroom Promotion Foundation (MPF) is expanding into the UK with the launch last week of an English-language website.

The foundation was set up two years ago in Amsterdam and has expanded since then, with multimedia campaigns in both the Netherlands and Germany. The organisation is committed to educating consumers about the virtues of mushrooms and now has websites for Dutch-, German- and French-speaking consumers in Europe.

MPF programme director Raymond van Buuren said: “Mushrooms deserve extra attention from the public. Many people enjoy the taste of mushrooms, but not everyone is aware of just how good for you they are too.

“Tasty and packed full of protein, mushrooms are a real superfood. The mushroom idea website provides people with lots of information and recipes, so they can make their own mushroom meals.”
