Posie Packer's labelling machine

Canadian agri-machine manufacturer Posie Packer is expanding its presence in the UK produce industry with an installation at Len Wright Salads of Preston.

Len Wright grows celery, Chinese leaves and a range of lettuce on Tarleton Moss for supermarket, wholesale and processing customers. The Lancashire firm chose Posie Packer because its poly-bag labelling machine can apply two labels on the same cycle. “This significantly cuts our labour cost of applying mandated labels,” said Ian Torley, MD at Len Wright.

Sales and service support are provided by LC Machinery and NP Seymour is the importing agent and distributor in the UK.

Posie Packer signed a distribution deal with Seymour last year and has developed its wicketed-bag labeller with Adrian Scripps Ltd for top fruit.

Posie Packer’s John Vandergrift said: “I am pleased to see that the machine is being used in the vegetable sector of the British produce industry as well as in the top-fruit sector.”

The Candian firm has been operational for 27 years and specialises in the design and manufacture of equipment to eliminate the “drudgery jobs” in packing produce and cut flowers.

“Our produce-bag labelling machine offers a cost-effective, accurate alternative to manual application of these time sensitive information labels as well as the promotional labels,” said Vandergrift.
