Pakistani freight-rate concern

Concerns are mounting in Pakistan after a delay in the release of mango airfreight rates.

Despite Pakistan setting an annual mango export target of 150,000 tonnes (worth $50 million), Pakistan’s airlines have still not released their own charges.

“The delays are making it hard for exporters to quote rates to their buyers,” said Waheed Ahmed, co-chairman of All Pakistan Fruits & Vegetables Exporters, Importers & Merchants Association.
