Around 400 delegates from 21 different countries are expected to attend Global Berry Congress, the annual event for the fresh berry business which this year takes place in the Chilean capital Santiago on 24-26 April.

With expert speakers and panellists from across the international berry sector due to take part in this year's conference, organised by Eurofruit, delegates will hear from key market players in the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America, as well as in-depth analysis of the category's future prospects from financial group Rabobank.

Among the delegates expected to attend this year's congress, meanwhile, are retail buyers from companies including Tesco, Loblaw and Cencosud; importers and marketers based in North America, Europe and Asia; and grower-shippers crom across the Latin America region.

"We've had a fantastic response this time around," commented Mike Knowles, editor of Eurofruit. "Not only do we have a strong programme this year, but the support we are seeing for this event from here in Latin America and from the international berry industry as a whole has been really strong."

Global Berry Congress 2013 takes place at the Sheraton hotel in Santiago. Delegates can register on the door, with local visitors able to take advantage of a special South American rate of US$300.
