Tozer Seeds has invested in a second warehouse at the company’s Ockham site in Surrey meaning all externally stored products will now be on site.
The new facility provides 1000m2 of climatically controlled space, and is part of the seed firm’s continuous expansion and increase in sales.
Access for stock picking is restricted to a tunnel connecting with the adjoining conventional warehouse, where a new order assembly area operates, in order to minimise temperature fluctuations.
A company statement said the new warehouse significantly increases storage capacity, which in turn will speed up order handling and reduce delivery lead times.
The statement added that Tozer Seeds recognises the significant contribution this new space makes, in enabling the company to satisfy customer expectations for continually improving quality.
