Zespri has launched its SunGold kiwifruit variety in India, according to local news site FnB News.
The hairless yellow fruit is a hybrid of Zespri’s Green kiwifruit and Gold kiwifruit and will be available in Indian supermarkets from May until October.
The announcement follows news earlier this month that the SunGold kiwifruit was also being launched in Saudi Arabia this season as part of its re-entry into the country.
Zespri began shipments of kiwifruit to India in May last year, promoting its health benefits through marketing campaigns across the country.
