Food Cycle volunteers

FoodCycle has launched a new fundraising campaign focused on food.

The national charity, which works to tackle food waste, food poverty, and social isolation, is hoping Meals That Matter will see supporters, volunteers, and foodies across the UK hosting dinner parties with a difference, with all guests donating to FoodCycle.

Running from From 22 August to 5 September 2014, the intention is for people to stage their ownversions of Come Dine with Me for a good cause.

The vital funds raised will help FoodCycle to serve over 30,000 nutritious three-course meals to vulnerable people in 2014.

Mary McGrath, FoodCycle chief executive, said: “Meals that Matter is a fun way to support FoodCycle and make a difference through the power of good food. Every day our volunteers are providing nutritious three-course meals made using food that would otherwise be wasted, served in a warm and welcoming environment to vulnerable people in communities across the UK.

'By hosting a Meals that Matter event, you’ll be helping us to serve even more. It’s simple, it’s a lot of fun, and it makes a real difference.”
