Pink Lady

Pink Lady gave away more than 120,000 chilled apples this summer.

In total, over half a million people have enjoyed the Pink Lady experience since activity began six years ago.

In its second year as 'champion' sponsor of Race for Life, Pink Lady distributed 70,000 apples at 10 events including Glasgow, Leeds and Nottingham.

Pink Lady extended its reach and talked to more families at Carfest as well as Gay Pride supporters for the first time in Brighton, London and Manchester.
Pink Lady PR activity promoted their partnership with Gay Star news and encouraged attendees to pick up a goody bag containing an apple.

Pink Lady created bespoke creative content which was also used on social media and shared on Gay Star News’ Facebook and twitter channels.

At Carfest and Race for Life, meanwhile, unique photo walls and recipe flags were created to accompany the Pink Lady tent, MINI car, and bicycle.

The Carfest photo wall, picturing the Pink Lady MINI, resulted in 1,800 people getting behind the wheel for a picture. And 700 photos of Race for Life participants, taken at the ‘We Did It’ photo wall, were uploaded onto the brand’s Facebook page, with runners asked to share the images and tag themselves. Attendees at both events could win prizes by sharing their images with Pink Lady and interacting with them on social media.

Michelle Toft, marketing manager for Pink Lady in the UK, said:“We’ve had a fabulous summer of activity and have enjoyed giving more people the chance to discover Pink Lady apples.

'Our Race for Life sponsorship continues to play a key role in driving awareness of and engagement with the brand. New opportunities, including LGBT Pride and Carfest, have given us the chance to talk to a more varied audience and discover just how many people consider Pink Lady apples a staple in their weekly shop.”
