Tesco is under investigation by the Serious Fraud Office

All eight Tesco directors suspended after the retailer’s £263 million profit overstatement are expected to be dismissed as early as next week, the Independent has reported.

Those reported as suspended included UK managing director, Chris Bush; head of group food sourcing (GFS), Matt Simister; UK finance director, John Scouler and director of convenience Sean McCurley.

Meanwhile, the BBC has reported that one suspended executive has already left the company. Tesco declined to comment on the reports.

According to the Independent, Robin Terrell is interim UK managing director at the company, with Jason Tarry as UK commercial director for food.

The paper also reported that Terrell is expected to return to his previous position as head of multimedia, while chief customer officer Jill Easterbrook is tipped to become head of the UK business.
