Blue Skies

Based in the UK but with a truly global flavour, Blue Skies Holdings is a company on the up.

Its turnover figure for the most recent financial year might be £50.7 million, but Blue Skies Holdings aims to double that figure by 2018.

Headquartered in Northampton, Blue Skies Holdings was founded in 1997. The firm has ventures in Ghana, Egypt, South Africa, France, and Senegal, and £22.2m of the company’s turnover came from trade conducted outside of the UK.

Speaking in the company report accompanying the accounts, secretary Jenny Pile said: “The Blue Skies group performed well in 2013. Over the last three years, the company has followed a disciplined fiscal plan and objectives, all of which were achieved. The most important of these was the substantial improvement in gearing.”

Blue Skies continues to enjoy strong sales growth in Europe and Africa, something it attributes to its Joint Effort Enterprise model, and in the UK, where the company claims the fresh-cut sector volume “slipped backwards slightly”, Blue Skies grew its business by 14 per cent.

The firm, which employed nearly 2,500 people in the most recent financial year, intends to reach the aforementioned 2018 target by “drawing on the benefits of the JEE”, which “harnesses” the energy of Blue Skies’ staff and suppliers to “produce an ever-improving quality that will keep Blue Skies ahead of the competition.”

Known for its fair trading practices, we see a bright future for Blue Skies.
