The salmorejo

ERMS UK has introduced a new range of speciality ready-to-drink soup and juice products from Spain.

The products, from the Andalucia region, include gazpacho and salmorejo soups, and pomegranate juice, and are being delivered to market after extensive research by the Cambridgeshire firm.

Martyn Smith, commercial head at ERMS UK, said: “We are now bringing these nutritious and tasty drinks to the UK. Gazpacho and salmorejo are very old recipes originating in Andalucía, southern Spain, made in the traditional way, and using traditional ingredients.”

Peppers and cucumbers, grown locally, are a staple ingredient of the soup, grapes grown in the Jerez region are used to produce the sherry vinegar in the salmorejo, and pomegranates, grown locally, are used to produce the juice.
