Finlays trades in a number of horticulture and exotic products from Africa

Thomas Frankum is to take over as the new MD of Finlays Horticulture Kenya (FHK) after Richard Hechle announced his resignation.

Frankum, currently director of produce and freight at FHK, starts in his new role on 1 September 2015.

Hechle, who began in the MD role in June 2012, has decided to pursue a career opportunity outside of fresh produce and horticulture, and the next few months will see him work on the handover with his successor.

Finlays Horticulture Investments CEO Martin Hudson, said: 'While naturally disappointed, I would like to place on record our appreciation for the dedication and commitment Richard has shown during his time with the business.

'We have faced some significant challenges in the FHK business during Richard's tenure, all of which he has approached with a positive mindset and resolute determination. I firmly believe that he leaves the FHK business in a much stronger position.'

Frankum has worked at the business since 1998, initially in the UK for five years, and in Kenya since 2003.
