New Spitalfields Wholesale Market has a new superintendent.
Ben Milligan, 34, is a chartered environmental health practitioner (EHO) who has worked in both the public and private sectors.
He previously ran the food team in the London borough of Tower Hamlets, where he worked for nine years, managing a core team of 10 inspecting officers with additional contractors, who covered 2,700 premises, including Billingsgate Fish Market.
He replaces Robert Wilson as superintendent at the east London fresh produce market.
Milligan is also the director of Citadelle Environmental Health, a company which specialises consulting for retailers, caterers, media companies and manufacturers on matters of environmental health.
