Michelle Toft has been recognised in local business awards

Coregeo chief marketing officer Michelle Toft has been named runner-up in the Women in PR and Marketing category in the 2016 Kent Women in Business Awards.

Toft was recognised for her achievement with the Tenderstem and Pink Lady brands.

She said: “To receive recognition at this level for doing a job that I love is very special. The team at Coregeo has turned Pink Lady and Tenderstem into household brand names and we are all looking forward to achieving even greater commercial success for these and other brands in the year ahead.”

In 2015 Pink Lady saw sales rise by 11 per cent to a 53 million kg and maintain its position as top-performing apple in terms of market penetration.

Pink Lady also saw spend rise by more than 17 per cent against an apple category average of just two per cent, Coregeo said.

Tenderstem has seen sales more than treble over the last five years. In 2015 sales increased by 21 per cent to nearly 7.7 million kg while penetration and spend also rose.
