Organic specialist Nature & More has given the sweet wrapper a modern twist with the launch of the Bug fruit wrapper.
Available with organic South African Sun Valley oranges, the Bug wrapper can be turned into a fun, interactive beetle, while at the same time allowing young consumers to learn more about how organic farmers work with nature and, in particular, with insects.
To create the Bug, children can twirl the four corners of the wrapper into legs, place it loosely over the orange and give it a push to send it on its way.
According to Nature & More, the toy is already proving extremely popular with both kids and cats.
By entering the letters B-U-G into the Nature & More website, kids can learn about how organic farmers are using beneficial insects to combat harmful pests.
The hugely important role of the bumblebee is highlighted, as is the soil. “It all comes down to farming in harmony with nature instead of trying to control conditions with chemicals,” the company stated.
