The start of the UK shallot season was toasted at a supperclub held in London last week.
Hosted by nutritionist and chef Toral Shah at The Urban Kitchen, the evening aimed to inspire new ways of cooking with shallouts, outside of the slow-cooking setting.
It was attended by a range of food bloggers and writers, and promoted on social media under the hashtag #shallotsupperclub.
The new harvest of UK shallots will be available from September onwards, and the supperclub also aimed to celebrate the new season.
