Dole's ice statues on London’s South Bank

Fruit supplier Dole has marked the launch of a new range of frozen fruit by building giant ice statues on London’s South Bank.

Supplied by Dole Packaged Foods Europe, the new range is marketed as fruit for smoothie mixes. The six flavours of 100 per cent fruit will be sold in the frozen aisles of multiple retailers and include raspberries, branded Tropical Gold pineapple chunks, blueberries, sliced strawberries, triple berry and tropical mix. The new range is sold in resealable bags at an RRP of £2.29.

The three ice statues were located near to London’s Oxo Tower on Wednesday 30 November, where passers by could also pick up one of 3,000 available free smoothies. Each smoothie was poured through a luge hidden in the ice sculptures into a takeaway cup and offered to busy commuters.

Dole has also launched a new range of ripened fridge packs of fruit in fruit juice. Located in the tinned fruit aisle, the Dole Resealable Fridge Packs include Tropical Gold pineapple chunks, mixed fruit, peach slices and prunes.
