Pod will donate surplus food to The Felix Project

London healthy fast-food chain Pod has partnered with new food waste charity The Felix Project to redistribute surplus food to those in need.

Pod will donate ready to eat salads, sandwiches, yoghurts and snack pots to the cause, which supports the homeless, elderly and those with mental health issues.

Founded in February 2016, The Felix Project has received over £800,000 in funding to secure the people, vehicles and equipment they need to fulfil their ambition to ‘see good food go to good causes’.

Pod chairman John Postlethwaite said: “'When you are making your food fresh on a daily basis like we do at Pod using kitchens in every store, waste will inevitably be an issue that we would prefer to avoid.

“To be able to avoid waste and give something back to society through the Felix Project makes it a very rewarding partnership which we hope we will have for many years.”

The news comes as The Felix Project recently put out a call for more donations of fresh fruit and veg.
