Easyfresh

Easyfresh has announced that the first Easyfresh Express reefer container train linking Southeastern Spain with markets in northern Europe will make its inaugural journey on 25 April.

The train will be operated by Frigobreda, one of the four owning partners of Easyfresh, the global dedicated reefer logistics operator headquartered in Valencia, Spain.

The train will be loaded with 45’ ft diesel electric equipment, already part of the fleet operated in the North Sea by Frigobreda. These units match the capacity of the usual reefer trucks, which normally carry all types of Spanish fresh produce from the Southeast Iberian Peninsula to all Europe.

The service will call at the Port of Moerdijk in the Netherlands, close to Frigobreda’s coldstore facilities.

From there it can be transported by rail, road, inland waterway or sea, bringing export markets within easier reach of Spanish produce exporters, the company said.

“Due to its strategic location between Rotterdam and Antwerp, the Port of Moerdijk is a pre-eminent logistical hotspot,” Easyfresh said in a statement.

“It connects with more than nine sailings per week to Immingham, three sailings per week to London, two weekly sailings to Teesport, two sailings per week to Blyth and several others to Norway, Ireland, etc.”

Valencia-Silla railhead is owned by ADIF, aSpanishstate-owned company operating Spain'srailwayinfrastructure. Valencia-Silla is located south from Valencia and is well connected by road to key production areas within the Provinces of Almeria, Murcia, Valencia and Alicante.
