Berry Gardens managing director Nick Marston is stepping down after over 20 years to be replaced by former sales and procurement director Jacqui Green.

Green will take the reins as chief executive of the soft-fruit cooperative, with Marston staying on to oversee the period of transition.

Marston declined to reveal details of future plans, but said they may involve some non-exec roles both in and out of produce.

Green has been with Berry Gardens for almost four years, after joining from her role as general manager at Bakkavor’s Wingland Foods. Prior to that, she worked as commercial director at Capespan.

Marston has overseen two decades of growth at Berry Gardens to its current turnover of over £270 million. He has also helped drive growth across the wider berry category through his work as a director of trade body British Summer Fruits.
