A new conference celebrating the diversity of food and drink in Kent is taking place later this month.

The first Kent Food and Drink Conference, organised by Produced in Kent, will be staged on 24 April at the University of Kent's Sibson Building in Canterbury.

The event includes speakers such as food marketing expert Professor David Hughes, Chapel Down Vineyards, as well as discussions around export opportunities, PR strategies and financial and legal advice.

'With such a vibrant food and drink culture in our county it made sense that we facilitate the kind of event that will benefit the region,' said Produced in Kent manager Stephanie Durling. 'The opportunities open to the region are incredible; post-Brexit may need a little clarity and that is something we are hoping to deliver.'

Conference delivery partner Sarah Calcutt added that the new Sibson building, which hosts business education at the University of Kent, is the ideal venue for such an event. 'We have an extensive exhibition area throughout the ground floor and will be utilising two of the incredible lecture theatres for conference and breakout training sessions,' she added.

The event includes a networking dinner the night before, as well as a drinks reception at the close.
