Van der Windt Packaging has bolstered its external sales team with the hire of Pete Richardson.
Richardson previously spent 33 years at Associated Packaging in Kent, and is regarded as an expert in supplying fast-moving packaging to the fresh produce, ready meal, food processing and general markets.
His work has included sourcing and distributing products from around Europe, the Far East and the rest of the world, and he has built strong working relationships with international packaging companies servicing several markets, including thermoforming for fruit punnet and trays, thermoformed bespoke products, compostable and biodegradable products, lidding films for the produce and ready meal markets, and ovenable and microwaveable ridged ready meal trays.
UK operations manager Richard Selby said: “Throughout his very broad experience over the last decades, Pete was totally dedicated to improving the service FMCG profile. This is a quality we are pleased to have brought to Van der Windt UK, PACOMBI Group. He has shown this through sales to top-named end users, being successful in winning business as a distributor, working on developments and as sales manager with extensive experience and knowledge in the food and none food industry.
“From each of the manufacturing companies he worked with he expanded his knowledge in all the relevant markets and processes, enabling him to progress in the sale of the finished products.”
