Chef Rachel Green will be doing a cooking demonstration

The UK Produce Industry Fair has unveiled details of the seminar programme for this year's event.

Among the speakers at the event on 12-13 September at the East of England Arena in Peterborough are Team Lincolnshire, who will be speaking about public-private partnerships and the three Food Enterprise Zones.

The University of Lincoln will discuss its services and the collaborative projects the National Food Manufacturing Centre at Holbeach has been involved in.

Now Plastics will look at the issues around plastics, and discuss what is recyclable, compostable and degradable while also considering shelf life, impact, availability and cost implications.

OAL Group will be exploring how OAL Connected is using the latest technologies to help reduce food waste.

An NFU panel will also debate what’s right for farmers and growers in a new UK agricultural policy, how Brexit will likely impact on horticultural businesses, including labour, producer organisations and ideas for how growers can build resilience into their businesses to mitigate the effect on production and profitability.

The UK Produce Industry Fair is promising a wide mix of exhibitors and visitors, including growers and importers of produce, logistics, distribution, cold storage and warehouse firms, manufacturers and suppliers of packaging materials, racking and pallets, production line and packaging machinery suppliers, printing, labelling and related products and services, IT, software and technology, engineers and builders.

The event also features chef Rachel Green, a veteran of numerous fresh produce promotional campaigns, who will be hosting sampling sessions focused on demonstrating innovative ways of cooking and presenting fresh produce at lunchtime on both days of the show.
