Jazz Apple has teamed up with namesake and swimming champion Jazz Carlin to encourage people to get back in the water after the Covid-19 outbreak.

With health and wellbeing a key pillar of the apple brand’s values, the partnership will attempt to increase swimming numbers in the UK by promoting now reopened indoor and outdoor venues, while also providing advice and tips from Jazz on how to become a better, more confident and safer swimmer.

Carlin represented Team GB at the 2016 Rio Olympics, claiming a silver medal in both the 400m and 800m Freestyle events. Over her career, she also became a Commonwealth Games gold medal holder and four-time European champion. She still holds the British Long Course Record in the 1,500m Freestyle and Short Course 800m Freestyle, as well as being a European Record Holder in the 4x200m Freestyle Relay.

Since retiring from the sport, Carlin launched her ‘Swim with Jazz’ programme, where she shares her knowledge and skills so others can benefit from the advantages she achieved. Through this, Carlin and her team of coaches guide swimmers to achieve their goals with support, advice and unique training plans.

She said: “I’m delighted to be working with Jazz Apple helping to get more people back into swimming. It’s obviously been a very difficult few months for everyone but swimming is such a fantastic sport for the mind, body and soul and great way of keeping fit and active. With the pools now open again it’s the perfect time to get back in the water. Over the next few months I’ll be working with Jazz offering tips and advice on the best places to swim, how to stay safe in the water and how to become a better swimmer, so stay tuned.”

Victoria Cliff, marketing manager at Worldwide Fruit, added: “We’ve been aware of Jazz and her fantastic swimming exploits for some time now following her success at the Olympics and have always been big fans. The determination and hard work she has shown over her career despite some setbacks is amazing and she’s exactly the type of role model we as a brand want to be working with. Hopefully this successful partnership will lead to an increase in swimming numbers in the UK and possibly unearth another Jazz Carlin too.”
