Waitrose’s director of food technology Mary Vizoso will give her view on the future of fresh produce procurement with a particular focus on supermarket needs at this year’s Fruit Focus, on 21 July at the East Malling Research Centre in Kent.
She plans to cover issues such as the current trading environment and increasing ecological and food security pressures. Vizoso will also discuss how the retail industry can balance value for money for consumers with fair deals for growers, while maintaining and building supplier relationships.
A King’s College London graduate, Vizoso has held a number of technical and commercial roles in food technology, brand development and produce buying during her career.
