Sainsbury’s chief executive Justin King will deliver the 2012 City Food Lecture at London’s Guildhall on 15 February.
The invited audience is expected to be 600-strong with guests from the food industry including growers and processors as well as policy-makers.
King’s lecture is entitled UK Grocery Retailing - back to the future? He will then join a panel taking questions from the floor in a session chaired by Sheila Dillon of the BBC Radio 4 Food Programme. Other panellists include Charles Wilson, chief executive of Booker plc, Lawrence Hines, head of retail grocery at Ocado and Dr Clive Black, head of research at Shore Capital.
The lecture is traditionally organised by the City of London’s seven food-related Livery Companies.
