Raymond will give the growers' view

High-profile figures from across the fresh produce industry have signed up to speak at FPJ Live at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull on 30 April.

Brigid Davidson, Iceland’s category controller for grocery and fresh, will discuss what the retailer is looking for from suppliers and how she sees the evolution of the supply chain.

Meurig Raymond, the current deputy president of the NFU, who is favourite to succeed Peter Kendall as president of the union at next week’s election, will give the growers’ perspective.

Florette managing director Neil Sanderson will give his view of how suppliers need to develop their businesses in order to stay ahead of the competition.

Ashley Clarkson, director of agriculture at major global consultants Grant Thornton, will outline his team’s analysis of the trends set to affect the fresh produce trade in future.

A young person’s roundtable debate will feature Anthony Clark, the European category manager for Total Berry Europe, and Carolyn Coxe, planning and agronomy manager at Produce World. Clark and Coxe will take part in an interactive debate looking at how to engage the next generation in the industry.

An exclusive piece of consumer research, carried out by England Marketing, will also be revealed at the event, shedding light on what shoppers want from fresh produce both now and in the future.
