Asia Fruit Logistica

With just under four months to go before Asia Fruit Logistica 2014 opens its doors in Hong Kong, the trade fair has already smashed its previous record for booked stand space.

Sold exhibition space for Asia’s premier fresh fruit and vegetable trade fair, which takes place on 3-5 September 2014 at AsiaWorld-Expo Center, has increased by almost 20 per cent on last year’s show.

A host of companies are exhibiting for the first time at Asia Fruit Logistica 2014 from all over the world, including leading industry players such as Mr Apple, Naturipe Farms, Cool Fresh International and Banabay.

Exhibitors from 33 countries and five continents have registered to take part.

Saudi Arabia and Yemen will be represented for the first time on the show floor, and 19 different countries have signed up for national pavilions, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Egypt, France, Greece, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey and the US.

Many of these countries are expanding their national pavilions at the show, reflecting the rising importance of both Asia Fruit Logistica and the Asian markets to their business.

New Zealand is almost doubling the size of its pavilion this year with seven new exhibitors taking part under the national banner.

“The strong level of interest in Asia Fruit Logistica is being driven by the increasing importance of Asian markets and the recognition that there are practical benefits from New Zealand exporters working together to make more impact on the show floor,” said Peter Silcock, CEO of Horticulture New Zealand, which coordinates the New Zealand pavilion with Plant & Food and the show’s organisers.

“We know from feedback received from past participants that this is a high-quality show that attracts importers and serious produce buyers from across Asia and the world.”

A record 6,536 buyers and trade visitors from 64 nations attended Asia Fruit Logistica 2013.
