The UK Fruit & Vegetable Awards 2016 is now open for entries.

The hugely popular event, which saw over 100 entries received in its debut year in 2015, returns with a series of new categories including Young Person of the Year, Best Retail Concept and a Sustainability Award.

They feature alongside favourite categories such as Unsung Hero, Charitable Initiative, Best New Product or Packaging, and more. There are once again separate categories for best fruit, vegetable and salad supplier, as well as a new category recognising the best wholesale or catering supplier.

As before, the winners will be decided entirely by FPJ readers, who will have the chance to review the entries and vote for their favourites in November.

Entering the awards could not be quicker or easier. Simply put together 250 words explaining why you should win, and send it together with a picture, to awards@fpj.co.uk. Full details are available atwww.fpj.co.uk/awards.

A series of favourable and cost-effective sponsorship opportunities are also available.

FPJ editor Michael Barker said: 'We are delighting to be bringing back these unique awards for their second season following such a fantastic response in their debut year. We were bowled over by the level of interest and participation, and I know last year's winners regarded it as one of the most treasured awards they've ever won.

'The entry process is so quick and simple, so I'd urge everyone to get involved and put themselves and their business up for a chance of glory.'
