The board of directors of Prevar, the international joint venture established to market new apple and pear cultivars released by New Zealand science company Plant & Food Research, has announced the recent appointment of Jim McLean as its independent chairman.
The appointment of McLean, an experienced company director and former board chairman of Plant & Food's predecessor HortResearch, follows the retirement of former chairman David Pilkington.
McLean oversaw the recent merger of HortResearch and Crop & Food Research to form Plant & Food Research back in 2008.
'He brings commercial, plus science and intellectual property management experience to this role at Prevar,' commented Prevar chief executive Brett Ennis.
