Enza

New Zealand fresh produce marketer Turners & Growers, which owns the Enza brand, has officially opened its new international corporate headquarters in Whakatu, in the North Island region of Hawke's Bay.

The new office building, which has been named after the group's global variety development manager Brian D'Ath, will be home to three divisions of Turners & Growers as well as the company's Enza team.

The 880m2 building is located alongside coldstores with a total capacity of 32,000m2, a packhouse and 14ha of orchards planted with Enza's trademarked apple variety Envy.

Enza's general manager of international marketing Michael Hardy told reporters the office would become the new 'heart of Enza'.

According to the NZ Herald, D'Ath was honoured Enza had 'conspired' to name the building after him and felt its geographical location would also be an advantage.

'In all of the major fruit companies that I visit around the world they all have their offices right in the middle of their operation,' he told the newspaper.

'I think everyone can then feel what they are doing - that's really important for a business.'
