UK manufacturer Packaging Automation is seeing high levels of interest for its convenience packaging equipment in Australia, as demand for ready meals, prepared fruit and vegetables and salads continues to grow.

The Vision 400 is a compact, high-speed automatic tray sealer which is capable of atmospheric and modified atmosphere packaging. It can seal and trim film from a reel onto trays of various materials including CPET, polypropylene, PVC, board and foil.

It will be showcased there in May, alongside PA182 semi-automatic hand turned rotary table tray sealer which is used extensively through the UK, and is finding success with Australian companies such as the OneHarvest group, and Matilda Fresh Foods.

The firm is represented in Australia by MPI. Its sales director, Peter Matthews, said: "Since taking over the PA tray sealing machines we have been very pleased with the high level of support that PA gives MPI. This level of service has been of great benefit to the Australian customers now using PA equipment.

“With fast turn around of tooling, customers are able to react very quickly to the demands of the Australian market. The new Vision 400 has created a great deal of interest with its clean lines and solid performance which are all contributing to its success."

Recently, the company has been selected by Eco Smart Technologies in New South Wales to help launch an innovative interlocking combination platter.
