Leading packaging supplier, Fresh Technologies Developments Ltd, has announced that it has reached an exclusive agreement with Australian technology company Bantec Marketing Services.

The deal will allow Bantec to manufacture and market the company’s Modified Interactive Packaging (MIP) films in the European Union and India.

The principal use for this technology is the packaging of fresh produce, live plants and cut flowers and the range of MIP films will be marketed under the trademark FRESH n SMART.

The range is designed to improve retailers, distributors and producers' bottom line performance through increased profits due to waste prevention, improved appearance and superior quality products, all factors essential to increase sales performance.

Richard King, chief executive of Fresh Technologies, said: “We are continuously researching and developing new technologies to complement our existing range of MAP films.

Based in Chelmsford, Fresh Technologies provide a range of packaging applications, which include flexible thin film, atmospheric management, biocompostable technology and contamination control.
