Turners & Growers (T&G), the New Zealand-based agribusiness group, has revealed that its year-on-year net profit climbed by 2.2 per cent through the first six months of the year, up to NZ$7.1m (€4.7m).

However, according to New Zealand publication BusinessDesk, the group opted not to release any more information until its full results release on 17 August.

The group posted a NZ$18.9m (€12.5m) netloss for the full-year of 2011, mainly the result of NZ$32.5m (€21.4m) ofwrite-downs of its orchards, a tax write-off and takeovercosts.
