The fight against food wastage has entered the digital age, thanks to an updated smartphone app that aims to prevent the accumulation of unwanted produce.

The latest version of the EatBy App uses artificial intelligence to tell consumers how long fruit vegetable itemswill stay fresh for. It then reminds consumers to use the produceup before itgoesoff.

The app’s developers claim it also has the ability to learn the storage habits of individual users.

“Not everyone's kitchen is the same, and different food storage environments effect shelf life,” EatBy said in a press release. “The EatBy App addresses this problem by learning as it's used over time.'

Initial versions of the app were praised by users, despite the user interface being described as 'clumpy'.

“Subsequent versions of the app have addressed this by incorporating a much more intuitive and attractive interface,” EatBy said. “The development team have certainly listened to their feedback to refine the app.”

The EatBy App is available on the App Store and Google Play.
