The Horticulture Australia Council (HAC) will continue on after a vote by its members, many of who believed the body was not doing enough for the industry.

As a result of the vote, the HAC will undergo significant changes, reported the ABC.

“The group has got to go away and work out those that are currently not financial and able to contribute, have got to work out what they can pull together and make it work,” said Tony Russell of Apple and Pear Australia, one of HAC’s members.

“And then the board needs to sit down with what resources it has available and create a model that is going to work with the available funding.”

Some of HAC’s members have not paid this year’s membership fees as a result of their complaints.
