Episode 4 of Fruitnet's new interview podcast series Fruitbox looks more closely at recent developments in the world's two largest fresh produce markets, India and China.

Host Chris White is joined down the line from Melbourne by Fruitnet's editorial director for Asia, John Hey, and China editor Yuxin Yang, to explore recent trends and future developments in both coiuntries, including the impact of the coronavirus crisis as well as other key trends like online retail and consumer demand.

In Episode 1, Fruitnet's editorial director for Europe, Mike Knowles and Latin America editor Maura Maxwell discuss the impact of Covid-19 on the European market, analysing the trade's reaction to a sudden shift in demand away from foodservice, catering and wholesale towards the supermarkets and other retail outlets.

Then in the second edition of Fruitbox, Chris hears about the aftermath of the coronavirus crisis from David Smith, a leading industry consultant based in Shanghai.

Published earlier this week, Episode 3 featured two Italians with first-hand experience of what's been happening in the country's fruit and vegetable business over the past few weeks.
