El Ciruelo has launched Viva Tropic, a new line of Spanish-grown tropical fruit from its own farms, picked at its peak to ensure maximum freshness, flavour, and nutritional value.

“One of Viva Tropic’s key strengths lies in its origin. Growing these fruits in Spain allows us to operate with a more agile supply chain and maintain greater control over the entire process, from cultivation to market arrival,” the company said. “Furthermore, this proximity allows the fruit to remain on the plant longer, advancing its natural ripening process before harvest.”

Viva Tropic launches with papaya and dragon fruit, both of which have seen growing demand in Europe thanks to their flavour and high nutritional content.

“Papaya is a source of vitamin C and provides beta-carotenes – compounds associated with skin and eye health. It also contains fibre, which supports healthy intestinal transit,” El Ciruelo said.

“Pitahaya stands out for its antioxidant and fibre content, which supports digestive well-being and gut microbiota health. Additionally, its high water content makes it an especially fresh and hydrating fruit.”

Viva Tropic’s visual identity is designed to convey the fresh, natural, and approachable character of the new range. According to the company, the design embraces a colourful, modern, and dynamic style inspired by the tropical world and the unique characteristics of each fruit, featuring an image crafted to stand out at the point of sale and ensure easy recognition.

“This new identity supports an initiative aimed at bringing tropical fruits closer to the consumer in a more appealing, simple, and approachable way, all while maintaining the backing and expertise of El Ciruelo,” the company said.
