Vietnam dragonfruit

Dragonfruit is among a list of Vietnamese products re-approved for entry to the Indian market, according to Viet Nam News.

The move follows a temporary suspension invoked on 7 March, which also extendeds to Vietnamese black pepper, cassava and cinnamon.

In response to the suspension, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) sent a letter to it’s Indian counterparts, requesting the country follow international practices and lift the ban.

The matter was resolved at meeting between Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Embassy of India in Vietnam last week.

As part of the deal, Vietnam has agreed to adjust its own import suspension on a number of Indian products, including peanuts and tamarind.
